During the Reconstruction Era
Some of the successes that happened during the Reconstruction Era were that it restored the United States as a unified nation that all former Confederate states pledged their loyalty to the United States government. The three constitutional amendments that were passed after the Civil War were Thirteen, Fourteen, and Fifteen Amendment that involved giving rights to African Americans. These three amendments are important today because they are still used today for the African Americans to have rights in the United States Constitution. The Reconstruction finally came to an end because in 1877 Hayes withdrew federal troops from South and the Republican governments collapsed ending the Reconstruction Era. The ideas of Reconstruction will finally make a major comeback in the United States that is the civil rights by 1864 when the Civil Rights Act of 1984 is established for people in the United States that outlaws discrimination based on race, color, religion, and origin.
