Was the Civil War inevitable?
The Civil War was inevitable to happen for many causes that led to it. The reasons that the Civil War was inevitable were the states rights, slavery in America, the election of 1860, and the secession of states to defend slavery. The states rights are a cause to the political power of the inequality between the states that are slave or free states in the cause of slavery that had been spread or forced into states. Slavery had been an expansion of political tensions between the North and the South. The election of 1860 was a major event and reason that the secession of states happened was because Abraham Lincoln was elected president that he had won against Stephen A. Douglas with Northern electoral votes. Though Lincoln had not been against or with slavery wanted to make a change of slavery in America that caused anger in the South. The solution for the South was to leave the Union to make their own constitution that led for eleven states to separate. These were some of the major causes that led to it though there are more events that caused the Civil War. This means that the Civil War inevitable due to the many events and causes that it would have been that led to it.
